The bluest of blue, the greenest of green, and much more… Zadar region indeed shines in the brightest colours. Colours of natural beauty, tranquility and joy of life. So, close your eyes and let us paint for you the region in all its finest colours.

Blue as …

The clearest sky, and the wonderful waters of the region. It is one the most striking colours of the area and it will make you feel inspired. As you are taking in the sparkling blue sea from the beach, or from a massage bench in the pools at Zaton Holiday Resort. As you are sailing into Telašćica Bay or kayaking across Vrana Lake (both nature parks). As you are marveling at the magnificent shades of blue flowing down the Krka (national park) and the Zrmanja rivers.

Green as…

The fragrant Mediterranean herbs, plants and trees. A true sight for sore eyes, the refreshing green scenery gives you the chance to feel reconnected with nature, to rest and recharge in beautiful surroundings. Be it under the lovely shade of a pine tree at Zaton Holiday Resort. Or hiking the trails along the Krka or uphill in Paklenica, both national parks. Or as you are exploring the island of Ugljan, the so-called ‘Garden of Zadar’.

Orange as…

The most spectacular sunset you have ever seen. Never with the same shades of orange, but always unique, always special. And even more so when you get to see it on the promenade in Zadar while the sea is playing its symphony on the Sea Organ. And while the Greetings to the Sun (also known as Sun Salutation), which happens to be a mini solar plant, puts on a wonderful play of lights.

Red as…

A cherry. But not just any, the Zadar region is famous for Marasca cherries. These are used to make the Maraschino liqueur according to a centuries-old recipe.

Yellow as…

The gold. As in the precious liquid such as olive oil. Olive oil has been produced in the area since ancient times, as evidenced by the remains of the archaeological site on Ugljan island. It is an important part of the healthy Mediterranean cuisine, used in practically all dishes. Golden is also the toe on the Statue of Gregory of Nin, which is said to bring good luck.

White as…

The finest flower of salt. It can be obtained at the Saltworks in Nin, which also offers an insight into a traditional production of salt, as it has been done for centuries in the region.
