Sea kayaking in Zaton
Exploring the coast by kayak/canoe allows you to fully appreciate the beautiful beach and nature at Zaton Holiday Resort. The further offshore you move, the better view you have of the entire stretch of the beach with the magnificent pine trees in the background.
While inflatable small boats and rented slide boats will also do the trick, kayak and canoe are faster and give you a feeling of adventure. They are easy to master even for first-timers and anyone can do it, regardless of age and abilities. Paddling is also a great form of exercise which seems effortless as you slide through the water. Just take it easy and paddle as much as feels right.
Canoe safari along Zrmanja river
Going on a canoe safari is an excellent excuse to change your daily routine on holiday and to explore the beautiful scenery in the hinterland. For that purpose, Zrmanja river is without a doubt the perfect choice and the trip can be easily arranged at the resort. Paddling down Zrmanja river may not seem as extreme as rafting, but canoe safari will equally give you an adrenaline rush and plenty of time to appreciate the amazing nature around you.
The canoe safari begins in a small village called Kaštel Žegarski not far from Zrmanja river’s spring which you can reach by your own car or you can opt for a bus transfer arranged at the resort. Once there, you will be given the necessary equipment and instructed about safety and the way to steer the canoe. And your Zrmanja adventure can begin!
The first part of the safari is calmer allowing you to boost your confidence and take in the nature around you. At midday, it’s time for a break, maybe even a snack and refreshment by swimming in the river Krupa, Zrmanja’s tributary, under the amazing waterfall. After that, it’s time for some paddling action through the rapids until you reach the village of Muškovci where your canoe safari adventure finishes.
